Detergent formulating is almost an art, the wide range of chemicals on offer have to be carefully blended to give the highest standards of hygiene at the lowest possible cost. In addition to this we recognise that we need to develop new technologies that can improve the quality of clean, make the clean easier and reduce the risk of product contamination, whether soil or microbial.
We have a number of research projects currently running that we hope will enable us to improve the quality of cleaning in the manner outlined above. A project running in conjunction with the University of Hertfordshire is nearing completion and we hope to launch a new range of food safe biocides soon. Watch this space!
In recent years, the detergent manufacturing sector has seen an increase in demand from its customers. Demands such as reducing downtime through cleaning, improving microbiological results and input on design of new factories are not uncommon.
These demands seem basic enough but the answer to them may be more complicated than meets the eye, a more concentrated chemical will not necessarily be the correct option. In response to this Pentasol have adopted a fluid working strategy, by not fixing responses and approaches to problems in stone we allow ourselves to be more flexible and often solve problems or answer demands in a number of different ways, on a number of different levels so that the customer will benefit.
One of the best examples of this approach is the number of relationships and links we have formed with other companies and businesses. This allows us to provide the very best customer care. Pentasol's expertise and core function is to formulate, manufacture and deliver high quality cleaning chemicals, but we understand that the remit of a detergent supplier does not end there. With this in mind we have formed close working relationships with CIP engineering specialists, conveyer lubrication specialists, sprayball manufacturers, mechanical service engineers, the list goes on.
Well formulated chemicals alone will not necessarily guarantee a thoroughly clean surface. There are a number of other contibuting factors such as method of application, insuring the correct chemical strength and, in the case of CIP, a whole host of other reasons including a mistimed valve opening or closing, cycle times not in alignment with the spray device and so on. Pentasol consider themselves experts in CIP and have brought a refreshing approach to optimising CIP in the brewing industry. Click here to view an article that appeared in Brewing International magazine that shows Pentasol's approach to CIP.
All of this allows Pentasol to respond to situations with a speed and comprehensive knowledge that is unrivalled. Links to some of our partners can be found in the links section of the website in addition to the other websites that offer useful information.
We hope you enjoy navigating this website, in the future we hope to develop this section into a more comprehensive account of how detergents are formulated and lift the lid on a science that has remained a guarded secret.
Thank-you for visiting our website.
